We were hired by South Hill Guitars to create the artwork for their new CD, “Lonesome Coyote.” The name of the CD comes from one of the movements of “The Creation of the World,” a piece written in 2016 for South Hill Guitars by Bill Whitley.
The members of South Hill Guitars are James Reid and John Paul (JP) Shields. Both teach guitar at colleges in the Northwest US. They formed their duo in 2014 and took their name from the South Hill in Spokane, WA. The South Hill is the birthplace of John Paul Shields as well as the longtime location for the studio of famed Spokane luthier Eric Sahlin.
JP and I hired Sue to create the artwork/packaging for our latest South Hill Guitars recording. We gave her a copy of our recording and some background information about the music and she came up with illustrations that captured the feel of our theme, Lonesome Coyote. We were very happy with the results.”
